Misako “Misa” Sassa learned to cook at her mother’s side in Japan. After moving to NYC in 1996, she realized that although there was a great appreciation of Asian cooking styles, few people were familiar with the basics of Japanese cooking.
Misa offers private and group cooking classes in homes in the New York City area. She also provides guided tours through Asian grocery stores in Manhattan. She also provides cooking demonstrations in private and corporate settings. Her goal is to introduce healthy and scrumptious Japanese home cooking to individuals, families, friends and co-workers in a comfortable, familiar setting. Her varied menus can be tailored to tastes and dietary restrictions
